Liipfert teams up for presentation
Bailey Liipfert is teaming up with Dave Baumann, of the Principal Financial Group, for a presentation on Special Needs Trust Planning to the Carver Vocational School in Winston-Salem.  Mr. Liipfert and Mr. Baumann will discuss the legal and financial issues affecting parents of children with disabilities, as well as the process of transitioning the child from school to everyday life.

Guardianship Conference invites Liipfert to speak
Attorneys Bailey Liipfert and Aimee Smith were asked to participate in the North Carolina Guardianship Association’s (NCGA) Annual Conference in Asheville, NC. The theme of the 2010 conference is “Guardianship’s Peaks and Valleys.”

Spring Fling 2010 Teams Up for Conference
Northwest Piedmont Area Agency of Aging, combining their annual Spring Fling event with their annual Aging Conference, will hold a two-day event at the LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, NC, in May 2010.  Bailey Liipfert will be conducting a session on Medicaid Traps during the event, and Brent Stephens and Aimee Smith will be on-hand to answer questions for the attendees.  The conference theme for 2010 is Classic Hollywood – Celebrating Health and Wellness. The event is geared to professionals and individuals, including older adults, adult children and caregivers alike, who want to gather new information about the issues that face today’s aging population.

Lejeune invites Liipfert back for 3rd presentation
Bailey Liipfert is slated to be an instructor at the 2010 annual CLE for Judge Advocates. This event is co-sponsored by the NC State Bar Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel (NC LAMP) and the ABA LAMP, and is held on the base at Camp Lejeune.  Liipfert’s presentation will be concerning basic estate planning issues and concerns, particularly those likely to arise within a military context.

Smith invited to speak
Attorney Aimee Smith will be a guest speaker at Walnut Cove Health & Rehab Center in Walnut Cove, NC. Ms. Smith’s topic will be Estate and Long Term Care Planning. Healthy Living Workshop continues
Our own Rhonda Nelson continues to be a lay leader with the Northwest Piedmont Council of Government Area Agency on Aging seminars.  Nelson is a Geriatric Care Manager for Craige Brawley Liipfert & Walker LLP and has been assisting in the “Living a Healthy Life with a Chronic Condition” series. She will participate in upcoming events to be announced during the year.
