North Carolina’s Oldest Law Firm

Craige Brawley Liipfert & Walker LLP was founded in 1832 and is North Carolina’s oldest law firm. Begun in Salisbury by four-term U.S. Rep. We opened a second office in Winston-Salem in 1917 and since 1959 have been housed exclusively in Winston-Salem.

Today, while we still represent railroads, that accounts for just a fraction of our work. We are a full-service law firm, handling a broad spectrum of legal matters, including Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Probate Matters, Trust Administration, Guardianship Administration, Special Needs Trusts, Elder Law and Long-Term Care Planning, Corporate Law, Civil Litigation, Real Estate.
